Shredding, Sorting and Material Recovery for Large Waste Items

Bulky waste includes discarded furniture, mattresses, carpets, wooden items, and other large materials that are difficult to handle through conventional waste processing systems. These waste streams often contain a mixture of metals, wood, plastics, and textiles, requiring size reduction and material separation before further treatment.

Hongzhi provides configurable bulky waste processing solutions that integrate shredding, conveying, screening, magnetic separation, air separation, and manual sorting according to waste composition, processing capacity, and site conditions. Initial shredding reduces material volume and breaks apart mixed components, allowing metals, wood, and lightweight materials to be separated for further recovery while preparing the remaining waste for downstream processing.

Features
  • Stable Shredding: The two-shaft shredder uses a low-speed, high-torque design to process large waste items. Materials within the specified feed limits can be loaded without prior dismantling, reducing manual preparation while minimizing the risk of material entanglement and jamming
  • Wear-Resistant and Durable: Cutter discs made from wear-resistant NiCrMo alloy help reduce wear and maintenance requirements. The shredder also features 40Cr alloy steel main shafts and a welded H-section steel frame for structural strength and durability
  • Integrated Control and Safety Functions: An intelligent control system provides start/stop control, emergency-stop functionality, overload protection, and fault alarms, simplifying operation and maintenance while supporting safe equipment operation
  • Dust Control System: Enclosed conveying, negative-pressure dust extraction, and baghouse filtration work together to reduce dust emissions during processing and help maintain a cleaner working environment

Chain Plate Feeder (Waste Feeder)
  • Chain Plate Feeder (Waste Feeder)
  • A heavy-duty chain plate feeder transports bulky waste into the processing line. The variable-frequency speed control provides steady, adjustable feeding for continuous operation.
Two-Shaft Waste Shredder
  • Two-Shaft Waste Shredder
  • The two-shaft shredder uses low-speed, high-torque shearing to break down bulky waste such as discarded furniture, mattresses, and garden waste. Wear- and impact-resistant alloy cutters, together with overload protection, support reliable size reduction to the required output size.
Discharge Conveyor
  • Discharge Conveyor
  • The discharge conveyor receives shredded materials and transfers them steadily to the next sorting stage, maintaining continuous flow.
Overhead Magnetic Separator
  • Overhead Magnetic Separator
  • Mounted above the discharge conveyor, the magnetic separator automatically removes ferrous contaminants such as iron wire and steel nails from the shredded waste stream.
Hydraulic Baler
  • Hydraulic Baler
  • After shredding and sorting, loose materials such as wood and textiles are compressed into dense bales using hydraulic pressure. This significantly reduces material volume, making storage and transportation more convenient
Pulse-Jet Dust Collector
  • Pulse-Jet Dust Collector
  • The dust collector captures airborne dust generated during shredding. Its pulse-jet cleaning system removes accumulated dust from the filters to maintain filtration performance and help control dust emissions during operation.
